hello friends today i gonna tell you about switch its mainly works on data link layer 2 and network layer 3.
It can take much traffic on us. they can connect your one device to another for that purpose they use brodcast messages. you can also configure it manually.
Cisco switches are the best in market all branded switches are cool and can up in running for years.
well on the other side juniper also has its name in the market.
the first configuration is to be done by the console cable. if you given that manageble switch an ip address so u can configure it remotely by 3rd party softwares like putty, hyper terminal etc. you can use any software you want.
non-manageable switch
non-manageable switches run on half duplex mode it mean either they can send or they can receive information at a time. but now a days almost all switches weather its manageble or non-manageble it run on full duplex mode.
console port
you can use manageable switches on enterprise networks of an organization or enterprise.
you can deploy VTP- virtual trunking port for replicating VLAN information from one to another switches.
STP or RSTP can be deployed for fast processing.
VLAN for 2 different department. its useful for between sales and account dept. it mainly block data traffic from one to another vlan port.
switch port security is useful for manageable switches and either you can bind mac address on specific port you want.
